Day 43

Note: One step equations and formulas: The goals is to isolate the variable or solve for the variable. When adding or subtracting, bring the number across the equal sign and change the sign. When the variable is divided by a number multiply both sides by that number. When a variable is multiplied by a number, divide both sides by that number.

We looked a the flagpole, lamp, exterior wall of school, tree, hallway wall, student square wall, football uprights.

Assignment: Students need to draw a labelled diagram and calculate the height of the object using trigonometry. Don't forget a concluding statement.

Day 28

Anecdotal Day

Today in class the journals, review test and chapter 6 test were handed back to students. We took up the chapter 6 test.

Hot Deal!
The review test was actually only out of 40 and each student can come explain to me what they did wrong or point out three silly errors for 3 extra marks. You must be able to show me how to do the question on your own.

Also the for the chapter 6 test you can get up to 8 extra marks on the last page. You must be able to show me and prove to me that you know how to do the last two questions on the test.

Anecdotal marks are an approximation of the level you are at. Thus far we only have about ten entries in and therefore every marked assignment significantly impacts the overall grade.

Note: Tangent Ratio: we did one example of a tangent ratio question.
